Patients exposed to swine flu through infected nurse

Queensland Health says it has tracked down most of the 120 people who had close contact with a nurse at Nambour Hospital who has swine flu.

Some patients, who have been discharged from the ward she had worked in earlier this month, were assessed at a flu clinic at Maroochydore yesterday.

The nurse and four other hospital staff are in quarantine.

There are now 146 confirmed cases of swine flu in Queensland, with seven on the Sunshine Coast-Wide Bay Health District.

Meanwhile, authorities are opening a flu clinic in Toowoomba today after a father and son tested positive to swine flu.

The flu clinic at Cossart House on the city hospital grounds will assess and treat people who are presenting with influenza-like symptoms.
