TRENTON, N.J. – There’s now been a swine flu case confirmed in every region of New Jersey.
Officials announced Monday that a 12-year-old boy from Egg Harbor Township is the first person confirmed to have the virus in Atlantic County.
He’s the first to have it in the state’s five southernmost counties. There’s been at least one case in 16 of the state’s 21 counties.
The state has reported 189 confirmed cases and 82 probable ones.
No one has died from swine flu in New Jersey.
The World Health Organization says 73 countries have reported more than 25,000 infections and 139 deaths.
